ABOUT

Agnès Hayden is a multidisciplinary technologist and artist based in Madrid, working across filmmaking, music production, DJing, and software development. Her practice explores the intersection of analog cinematographic methods and contemporary technologies — including artificial intelligence, programming, and 3D rendering — as tools for expanding the plastic and perceptual possibilities of the moving image.

Trained as a backend programmer and currently specializing in systems administration and cybersecurity, Agnès brings a genuinely technical perspective to her artistic work. She is recognized for transforming complex material and technological processes into meaningful visual and sonic experiences, offering a renewed lens on experimental cinema and digital culture.

In the sonic realm, Agnès co-founded Basilisque — an experimental electronic duo whose sound moves through hard techno, experimental hardcore, and deconstructed club — and leads her solo project Ghidra. Her performances are immersive and high-voltage, driven by relentless experimentation and an instinct for avant-garde sound.

Her work has been showcased at international festivals and venues including Beijing International Short Film Festival (China), Sorigrim (Seoul), Arab Image Foundation (Lebanon), Kunstnernes Hus (Norway), the8fest and Images Festival (Toronto), Peripheries (Chicago), Experiments in Cinema (New Mexico), Elevation Film Festival (UK), Intermediaciones (Colombia), Light Matter (Argentina), S8 Mostra de Cinema Periférico (Spain), Círculo de Bellas Artes, Matadero and Academia de Cine Español (Madrid), among others.
